Mid-March Check In
A few months ago, a client was telling me that she was “just giving up on making progress that month.” She said she “wasted” the first 2 weeks and “didn’t have time to get anything else done.” She finished by saying she’d start again on the first of the next month.
I looked at the calendar and sure enough, it was only the 12th. We still had 19 days left! Almost 2 and a half weeks! I said, “Yeah, that’s going to be a big fat no from me. You still have so much time!” We talked it through, figured out why she felt defeated, and came up with a plan. By our next scheduled call she told me how grateful she was she hadn’t given up those 2 weeks. In those 19 days she applied for & got a new job, made a ton of progress on a project she was working on, and accomplished a goal she had since the beginning of the year!
Wow! I’m not saying that in 2 weeks your life is going to look completely differently likes her did, but I am telling you 2 weeks is PLENTY of time to make progress. We have got to get over the limiting belief that we can only start on Sundays or even days or the beginning of the month. Time is arbitrary, but making intentional choices and following through on your action steps is not.
That being said, if you’ve got a case of the mid-month blues, let’s do a soul check in and see where there’s still time & opportunity for you to make progress. The good news is we’re not only planning for this month, we can take this time to look ahead at this new season that’s approaching!
Hey lady, if you’re still feeling down or discouraged, ask yourself why? What’s blocking your success or your ability to look forward? This may be the perfect time to grab your journal and start writing down anything that comes to mind. Or it could be a great time to get outdoors—breath in the fresh spring air, take note of the new life that’s bursting through the cold and wet, and feel your body’s strength and energy. Or it may be time to grab a friend and get out of your own head for a while.
And, of course, it may be time to hire a life coach. I say this because I know first hand how coaching can help get you out of a slump or simply get a jump start on your goals. Someone who can hold you accountable, help you clearly identify what’s important to you, and help you sort through all those thoughts & limiting beliefs in your head. If you’re at all interested, I offer complimentary, commitment free Discovery Calls each month so you experience how life coaching can be beneficial for you!
