Practical Steps to Surviving This Holiday Season

Feel like you need PTO before your holiday vacation? 

This truly is the most wonderful time of the year! There's parties to throw, gifts to buy, wine to drink, and friends to see. Twinkling lights cover the city, welcoming in this full holiday season.

But it also means... now the dishes are piled up, cards need addressing, sheets need washing, and the ever growing Christmas to-do list can no longer be ignored. So, we push away self care & down time to tackle what is in front of us and promise ourselves we'll do better next year.  After all, that's what New Year's resolutions are for, right? 

The good news? You're not alone!

If you're anything like me, you have felt paralyzed by the things left undone, or have been swept away in the anxiety of the to-do lists!  

Wait, what? Life coaches don't have their shit together either?

Of course not! Like you, we all have a greater number of responsibilities than hours in the day. Coaches simply have a tool box full of ideas and systems of discipline to help give us a jump when we're in a funk.

So I wanted to share with you my morning routine to help center myself and the woman who boosts my spirits like no other.

But first, coffee.

Each morning I get to work an hour early to help me get settled into the day. I know myself enough to know if that extra hour is spent at home, it is spent sleeping in. Everything I need to get ready is already in my office, so I can focus as soon as I get there. In my first hour, I make sure to:

1. Write my to do list for the day & divide my responsibilities per hour. 
2. Read two short devotionals, journal, pray.
3. Do my hair & makeup.
4. Exercise with Angela Davis

Who's Angela Davis? 

She is a fitness evangelist, an Olympian, and has been my latest obsession for over a year. Y'all, she has a way of speaking T R U T H into my soul, and it gears me up for each day.
